Maralyn Heathcock is an actress and solo performer who has appeared worldwide, from Pakistan and the Middle East to the West Indies, on board the liner QEII, and London’s West End. Appearances there have included Amadeus for the National Theatre and The School for Scandal. She has several one woman shows to her credit, including Patterns, which she toured round the Middle East for the British Council and Pakistan which she has visited several times with different programmes, most recently in 2007 with a show called Cavalcade. The Apprenticeship of John Pigge, about an Elizabethan boy actor, in which Maralyn played the boy, his mother and the actor Edward Alleyn was also seen as a National Theatre Platform Performance. The Miracle of Earl Waltheof, which opens Cavalcade was written for the 1986 Domesday Book exhibition at the Public Record Office in London, and was also performed for HM Queen Elizabeth when she visited the exhibition. Cavalcade (the title is taken from a play by Noel Coward) is basically an entertainment in verse and drama, with a few songs, spoken or sung. It does have its serious moments, but the intention is, above all, to entertain. Maralyn has also made radio commercials and exhibition sound guides and narrated a video about Domesday Book. |
