More and more people are listening to radio over the internet. Here are some recent statistics about internet radio usage:

1. Since November 2007 there has been a 37% increase in the number of people who have downloaded a podcast in the UK and a 98% increase in the number of people who listen to a podcast each week (IPOS Mori)
2. Almost a quarter (23.7%) of the UK’s adult population have listened to radio via the Internet. That equates to nearly 12 million people (11,911,000)
3. Two thirds of these, or 16.1% of the adult population, listen at least once a week. .
4.6% listen via the Internet every day or most days – that’s 2.3 million people
