Short Story Writers: Alan Coleman Alan Coleman was born in Birmingham, England but now resides in Australia. He has had a distinguished career in the television industry directing, producing and writing many hit shows. Alan wrote many hundreds of episodes of the highly successful medical drama series The Young Doctors and has also written for other serials including The Adventures of the Bush Patrol and Neighbours. His autobiography will be published later this year As well as being the driving force behind The Young Doctors he has also produced other popular series such as Class of 74, Case For The Defence, Escape into Night, The Jensen Code and Kids From 47A. His directing credits include Crossroads, Prisoner: Cell Block H, Home & Away and Family Affairs. During his long and distinguished career Alan has executive produced Neighbours in Australia, Shortland Street in New Zealand, Unter Uns in Germany and Goede Tijden - Slechte Tijden in The Netherlands.
