David Wood was born in Edinburgh in 1950, and now lives in Dunblane. He left school at 15, with no qualifications, but he worked his way to the top of the greasy pole. After 40 years working in various IT roles in both the private and public sector, realising he was way past his sell-by date, he took early retirement, from running one of the largest UK public sector IT organisations. David gained his education from the school of hard knocks, and his degrees by attending Strathclyde Business School. New to writing for pleasure, David has just had his first book (In the Shadow of Amiantus) published by independent publisher CheckPoint Press.
